GAME PREVIEW: LAS VEGAS HEADS SOUTH TO FACE THE GEORGIA SWARM

February 03, 2026

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 3, 2026) – The Las Vegas Desert Dogs (4–3) will hit the road after a month-long homestand, to take on the fourth-place Georgia Swarm (5–3) inside Gas South Arena at 4:30 p.m. PST.

These two teams have faced each other just twice in their history, with the Swarm winning both matchups. Their most recent meeting came just over a year ago on February 1, 2025, when the Swarm snuck out a 16-14 win over the Desert Dogs.

The Swarm will be another tough opponent for Las Vegas, but it also presents a great opportunity to prove this group can compete with the league’s best.

LAS VEGAS BEATS OSHAWA IN A DOGFIGHT

The Desert Dogs outlasted the Oshawa FireWolves (2–7) in a high-scoring 16–13 battle, giving Las Vegas a winning record during the season for the first time in franchise history.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw the Desert Dogs trail 6–5 at the break, the game opened up offensively in the second half, with Mitch Jones and Chris Cloutier leading the charge as the teams entered the fourth quarter tied 10–10. Jones scored twice early in the final frame, and despite Oshawa’s push to close the gap, Jonathan Donville and Adam Poitras helped restore control before Donville sealed the victory with a breakaway goal.

GEORGIA SWARM ARE BUZZIN’

The Georgia Swarm enter the matchup riding a three-game winning streak and have looked dominant during that stretch. Much of their success has been fueled by goaltender Brett Dobson, who has held all but one opponent under 10 goals this season. Dobson leads the NLL with a 6.91 goals-against average, nearly two goals better than the next closest goaltender, and also paces the league with a .868 save percentage.

Georgia also features a young, talented roster with five of the league’s top 15 rookies. Rookie Nolan Byrne leads the group with 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists, ranking as the Swarm’s fourth-leading scorer. Bryan Cole sits atop the league as the highest-scoring defenseman with 28 points, totaling six goals and 22 assists. Veteran scorers Shayne Jackson with 38 points and Lyle Thompson with 30 points continue to anchor the offense.

With depth throughout the lineup, the Swarm present a tough challenge for the Desert Dogs, who will need to find a way to break through Dobson early to secure a road win.
