Las Vegas, NV (December 28, 2025) – The Las Vegas Desert Dogs have acquired two first-round draft picks (2026, 2027) and one second-round draft pick (2028) from the Colorado Mammoth in exchange for forward Jack Hannah.
Hannah, the Desert Dogs’ first franchise player, was a key contributor during the organization’s first three seasons and played an important role in establishing the club’s offensive identity in Las Vegas.
During contract negotiations, the Desert Dogs made multiple efforts to retain Hannah in Las Vegas and matched the offer sheet extended by Colorado. Despite those efforts, Hannah and his representatives made it clear that he would not continue his playing career in Las Vegas under any circumstances, regardless of contract terms, and demanded a trade in order to return closer to his home and business in Colorado.
Faced with that position, the Desert Dogs acted decisively to protect the long-term growth of the organization. Through strategic negotiations, the franchise converted a forced situation into an extraordinary return, acquiring two first-round draft selections and an additional second-round pick.
As the Desert Dogs continue to shape their long-term vision, this move represents a significant investment in the future of the franchise. With multiple high-value draft selections in upcoming classes, Las Vegas is positioning itself to strengthen the Pack and build sustained success for years to come.
This offseason, the Desert Dogs also took major steps forward by signing one of the NLL’s premiere offensive players, Mitch Jones, along with championship-proven talents Chase Fraser and Chris Cloutier from the Buffalo Bandits, further underscoring the organization’s commitment to building a dynamic and competitive roster.
“We’re grateful for what Jack brought to the Dogs over the last three seasons,” said Desert Dogs General Manager Shawn Williams, “At the same time, this is a pivotal moment for us as we continue to build for the future. Acquiring two first-round picks is a tremendous opportunity that will have a lasting impact on our team.”
The Desert Dogs remain focused on building a powerful, competitive future. A future driven by elite talent, commitment to the city of Las Vegas and a long-term vision.
